Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War – Parts
1 and 2 will the first time
a Hollywood feature film will be shot only using Imax cameras and its exclusive
aspect ratio. The directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) take the plunge and use the new
Imax/Arri 2D digital camera to capture the entire two-part instalment of the
global franchise. The brothers will take over Marvel's billion-dollar franchise
from Joss Whedon,
who directed the first two Avengers films, with the second, Avengers: Age of Ultron, currently
in theatres Imax will release Marvel's Avengers:
Infinity War – Part 1 on its screens on
May 4, 2018, with Avengers: Infinity War — Part
2 to follow on May 3,
2019.
